Lawrence Tesler: an Icon of Early Computing Behind Cut, Copy and Paste


Lawrence Tesler, who made personal computing easier, died on February16, 2020 at the age of 74. The cause of his death is still unknown.

Mr. Tesler was dedicated to the idea of simplifying interaction with computers. He was a researcher for Xerox at Palo Alto Research Center in the 1970s, and at Apple under Steve Jobs in 1980s. 

He left Apple in 1997 and worked as independent consultant for many high tech companies, such as Amazon, Yahoo! and 23AndMe.
